Machines, their origins and their uses

The Biffa or couillard

It is a sophisticated counterweight machine. Its two articulated bins simplify the assembly, facilitate handling and make it possible to accelerate the rate of shooting which is five to six times higher than that of the Trebuchet.

biffa

By its effectiveness, this machine competed with artillery with powder a long time. Very massive (5 m of length and 2,5 m broad for a chechmate set up to 8,40 m) it can however easily be started by one being useful.
